Home Bound Communion

FCC also offers Home Bound Communion for those individuals who are unable to get to worship services. Homebound Communion is offered once a month on the fourth Sunday of each month. If you are interested in this service, please call the church office.

The CWF groups sponsor the First Christian Church tape ministry. If you would be interested in receiving a tape of the current worship services, contact one of the CWF members, or the church office.

If anyone has a child or any extended family member that is graduating this year, we would like to have a display with their picture and the graduation information. Please provide this no later than May 7 to the church office.

The Relay for Life team will be holding a garage sale during the Brookfield community wide Garage Sales. If anyone would like to donate items for this, please contact Shannon Jacobs, team captain.

Youth-Infused Worship

The Worship Ministry has determined to more intentionally involve our children and youth on the First Sunday of each month. They will serve as acolytes, lay leaders, offering servers, scripture readers, children’s choir, special musical offerings, greeters, etc. Thus, we will call each first Sunday a “Youth-Infused” Worship. This is an opportunity to allow our children to share their gifts and enthusiasm in leadership ways. We want to involve as many children as would like to be included, so please contact Carey Smith or Renae Waddill to participate.

Meeting Schedule for 2010

Jun 8 — 6:00pm — Dinner Out-Louise Ann Devotion-Zelma Newman

Check out Sunday School—Sundays @ 9:30 a.m.

We now have 3 Sunday School offerings for children and youth. “Let the Children Come” is taught by Louise Ann and is for ages 3 – 8. We have a 2nd class taught by Lisa Macintosh and is for grades 4 – 7. The third class is taught by Carey Smith and is for grades 8 -12. We encourage all children and youth to be active in these opportunities for spiritual formation. The church van is available if anyone needs a ride.

We have 3 adult Sunday School offerings. “Pathfinders” is taught by Jim Elliott; “Seekers” is taught by Bill Gordon; and “Builders” is taught by Nadine Waddill.
The EveryWoman Matters group would like to invite you to “Adopt a Backpack”. These backpacks are to benefit the Jesus Outreach Ministry in Houston TX. The backpacks are in the narthex on the south pew and you may adopt as many as you wish. We have suggestions for items to be placed in the backpacks and ask that you choose at least 5 of the items and return the filled backpacks to the church by November 10.
